The purpose of La Joya High School Mu Alpha Theta is to promote scholarship and enjoyment and understanding of mathematics among high school students and the La Joya ISD community.

I am honored to be a part of Mu Alpha Theta as well as National Honor Society and SHPE. I plan on attending The University of Texas At Rio Grande Valley, where I will be majoring in computer science. I want to thank my family and friends for supporting me and helping me create unforgettable memories. Hi, my name is Melanie Martinez:) I will graduate rank 26 from La Joya Early College High School with an associate's degree in interdisciplinary studies from South Texas College. Throughout my four years, I have invested my high school career in clubs such as Leo club, SHEP, NHS, Band, and Mu Alpha Theta. I will be continuing my education by going to Texas A&M at college station (gig ‘em 👍🏽) as a general engineering major and hopefully going into computer science. Thank you to Mr. Berrones for helping me with my college application process throughout the whole year and giving me advice. I am also VERY grateful for the support of my parents, who have always believed that I could and that “echándole ganas” would pay off in the end! I also wanna thank my friends for making lifetime memories that I will cherish with me forever; I love you guys🫶🏽! Hello, my name is Jazibe Martinez. I am a La Joya Early College High School student, graduating with honors as rank #18 of the graduating class 2023 for LJHS. I will be graduating with my high school diploma, and graduating from South Texas College with my Associate's Degree. Being a part of Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society and the National Honor Society was a privilege. After graduating, I will attend The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and pursue a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. I am thankful for my family, friends, and others who were a part of my high school experience. I hope great things come in the future!
